About Us
Adobri Publishing is a family dream brought to life in Vancouver, BC, Canada. As children of immigration, we value our heritage and the stories that shaped us.
When we first envisioned publishing children’s books, we quickly realized that existing self-publishing options didn’t meet our needs. So, we set out to create something of our own—a space where stories could bridge cultures and celebrate our roots.
Our story began with the birth of our first child and a heartfelt tradition: a mother reciting Alexander Pushkin’s iconic Russian poem, “Lukomorye,” to her baby. With Ukrainian and Russian heritage on one side and Canadian roots on the other, we feared our child might lose touch with an essential part of their cultural identity. That cherished poem, lovingly recited in infancy, might never truly become part of their future.
This worry sparked an idea—one that became the foundation of our publishing journey: a notebook. Inspired by “Lukomorye,” we created a notebook designed to look like a real journal. Knowing that our children might never be able to speak or read in Russian while growing up in Canada, we adapted “Lukomorye” for English-speaking audiences to preserve its magic and cultural richness. Its purpose is to ignite curiosity in children, encouraging them to imagine Lukomorye as a magical world that exists just beyond their reach—a place they can explore through their creativity and imagination.
Though our book selection is still growing, our vision is clear: to create a space where meaningful stories can flourish and families can find books that resonate with their hearts. Adobri Publishing is more than a business—it’s our way of honoring the past, enriching the present, and inspiring the future.
